The thing I dislike most about our president is his near complete understanding of human nature. His remarks at the opening of the World War Two Memorial is a classic. The event called out for honest words from the heart. Poetry, if you will.
Here was a time to remember hundreds of thousands of Americans who came from every part of the country-most willingly, others less so-to go to war. They did so, simply-with little thought and much fear-because it was the thing that was expected.
I don't know if this was the "greater generation" but it certainly had its share of trials. But here was a chance for today's American president to speak to them and to all who follow, about the values of their time and the losses they suffered. It was a time to speak to the greater good with in them and to ask each of us, now and in year to come, to be inspired by the things they did.
Sadly, we heard more of the same from our president. At a time that called for Lincoln, we got more trash.
The man just isn't smart and doesn't understand life for average people. He has no concept of honest gratitude.
